Train Sim World 2 is the next evolution of Train Sim World, originally releasing on the 6th of August 2020 but on 16th July was moved to 20th August 2020.
Routes and Locomotives
The base game of Train Sim World 2 will come with 3 routes:
- Sand Patch Grade - 52 mile route between Cumberland and Rockwood, featuring the CSX AC4400CW, SD40-2 and GP38-2
- Köln Schnellfahrstrecke - 70 kilometre section of high speed railway between Cologne and Aachen in Germany. Features the ICE 3M high speed EMU and the DB BR 442 EMU.
- Bakerloo Line - 14 mile London Underground line featuring the 1972 Mark 2 Stock.
Editing Tools
Train Sim World 2 comes with two new editing tools; the livery designer and scenario planner. These allow users to create custom liveries for the locomotives featured in the game and create new scenarios for featured routes.
New Features
Train Sim World 2 also includes new adhesion physics for more realistic gameplay, as well as improved dynamic skies to improve the visuals of the game.
Preserved Collection
The original plan was that DLC from Train Sim World 2020 will be carried over in a limited form to Train Sim World 2. This meant that TSW2020 routes and locos will be playable in Train Sim World 2, however they will not be compatible with any of the editing tools and it will not be possible to use preserved locomotives on Train Sim World 2 routes. This was later announced based on community feedback that this content would be useable with the scenario planner
