The M3 is an Electric Multiple Unit or EMU manufactured by Budd. Built between 1982-1985, the M3 is used in the northeastern area of the United States. The Budd M3 operated via the Long Island Railroad & Metro North Railroad. On the Metro North Railroad it is classified as the Budd M3A while on the Long Island Railroad it is classified as the Budd M3. It is featured in Train Sim World as part of the LIRR M3 loco add-on for the Long Island Rail Road route. It was released on May 14th 2020

  • Ferrying Folks - The ferry pier at Long Island City is out of action. The LIRR is operating direct shuttles to Jamaica, allowing passengers to quickly head for Atlantic Terminal and ferries to Manhattan that way.
  • Metropolitan Mover - Bring a train of M3 units into public service.
  • Hicksville Handler - Many M7 units have been taken in for routine maintenance and the old M3 units have been brought into service to cover. You are to bring an M3 unit into operation and complete the run to Hicksville.
