The DB BR 422 is a type of electric multiple unit used by Deutsche Bahn on the Rhein-Ruhr S-Bahn network in western Germany. They are featured in the Rhein-Ruhr Osten as well as the Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr route as the primary passenger EMU, operating local S-Bahn services along the route.
